SAROPA ART

This is the website for artworks by Sarah Robertson Palmer. The works cover a range of mediums and techniques; most have in common one of my most favorite materials, paper.

Busy hands equal a smile on my face. This has been my life motto. Since childhood, I have been entranced by making stuff with just about anything. Presently my work is centered around my love of paper: collage, monoprinting, watercolor, and drawing. This summer I revisited precious metal clay jewelry. Never one for complacency, I enjoy variety and work or have worked in several mediums: ceramics, watercolor, jewelry and metalsmithing, intaglio printmaking, and mixed media. My favorite art elements are texture and color. Design principles of balance and unity inspire my work and I'm a big fan of symmetry and harmony. I'm a long-time Seattleite and am starting my eighteenth year teaching art at Explorer West Middle School.

I have a BA in Art History and an MA in Art Education. I've studied at many art schools including California College of the Arts and Pratt Fine Arts, and am constantly amazed by all there is to still learn and experience.
